Vaccination is important preventative health care. By vaccinating your pet you protect it from contagious diseases and prevent the spread of diseases.
Puppies are recommended to be vaccinated at 12 and 16 weeks of age. In some cases, the puppy may be vaccinated at 8 weeks of age, e.g. if the mother has an incomplete vaccination history. An adult dog is recommended to be vaccinated at the age of one year and then every year for kennel cough and every 3 years against other diseases. Dogs are vaccinated against parvovirus, hepatitis, distemper, rabies and kennel cough.
Kittens are recommended to be vaccinated at 12 and 16 weeks of age. Kittens can be vaccinated earlier on a case-by-case basis if, for example, the dam has an inadequate vaccination history. An adult cat is vaccinated at 1 year and then every 1 to 3 years depending on the vaccine used. Cats are vaccinated against panleukopenia, herpes and calici viruses. For traveling abroad they also need a rabies vaccination.
