Cardiovascular diseases are common especially in certain breeds, but any breed may be affected. Especially in older pets, cardiac murmurs are common and it is advisable to examine the heart especially before possible anesthesia. Medication started in time can extend the lifespan of the pet and improve the quality of life.
In our clinic we have an ultrasound machine especially för heart diagnostics, and Leena has further education in cardiovascular diseases and ultrasound examination of the heart.
Electrocardiogram (ECG) is recommended if the pet has heart arrythmias. We can record ECG in the clinic, as well as Holter measurements that can be used to measure ECG during 24 hours at home.
In the clinic we can do official heart auscultations.
